New York City Travel
From my many journeys to New York City I have found a few strategies to spend as little as possible. 1) Plan and LEARN how to use the transit system. You can buy all day transit passes that are good for the bus, subway, etc. The key is to learn and feel confident about what direction the trains go, i.e. North on one side of the street and South on the other. Have a quick reference map on you at all times. 2) Stay at the Broadway Bed and Breakfast Inn if you have tp stay in the middle of it all. The rooms are small, but clean and very inexpensive.
For only around $100 a night you can stay right on Broadway. You do pay top dollars for parking, but the savings on the room more than make up for it. 3) If you don’t really need to be in the heart of it, stay in the meadowlands. There are rooms at the Homewood Suites, Extended Stay or numerous hotels for around $100. If you have a group, you use the pass mentioned earlier. If the pass covers the ferry, you take the Ferry acorss the near the Lincoln Tunnel.
It’s just more fun than the bus. But, if you get up later, it is way overcrowded. Don’t ever take ANY trip without studying up and finding people who’ve done it. Use the Internet to book everything for savings. Sign up for last minute deals.
